Opened on Oct. 1, 1971, Magic Kingdom was the first of the four parks to open at the Walt Disney Word Resort. Magic Kingdom was designed and built by WED Enterprises, the park’s layout and attractions are similar to Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California. The 117-acre park captures the charm and enchantment of the beloved fairy tales that were made so popular by Walt Disney himself.

At the heart of the park is Cinderella Castle with its romantic fairy tale charm, that serves as the gateway for guest to take pathways across the 117-acres of the Magic Kingdom theme park that lead to these 8 whimsical lands:

  • Main Street, U.S.A.
  • Adventureland
  • Frontierland
  • Liberty Square
  • New Fantasyland (late 2012)
  • Tomorrowland
  • Storybook Circus

As you travel through each land, you’ll watch fantasy become reality. From meet and greets with the favorite beloved characters, encountering pirates, or laughing with monsters to enchanted parades and spellbinding fireworks shows, dreams really do come to life at Magic Kingdom Park. In 2011, the park hosted approximately 17 million visitors, making it the most visited theme park in the world.
