Back in it’s prime in the 1930’s, classic stars of the silver screen would come to the grand Hollywood Tower Hotel for rest and relaxation. However on a gloomy Halloween night in 1939, 5 unlucky souls were never seen again when they were riding down the Hotel’s maintenance service elevator and a violent storm struck the building. Guests can still see the black scorch marks where the lighting struck the facade of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

The signs of dilapidation from the abandonment of The Hollywood Tower Hotel is everywhere. As guests make there way through gardens of broken stoneware and over growing plants, in the background they’ll hear the haunting melodies from the past by great artists like Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and other notable artists from that era.

Entering the lobby, guests will have to pier through cobwebs and dust that have over taken the lobby, in order to notice the luggage that was abandon from the hotel guests as they scurried out of the hotel on that dreadful Halloween night. Make sure to take some time to check out what is in the lobby, because there are genuine leather chairs that are antiques from the Renaissance Era, and French bronzes, some of these were even created by the 19th century artist  Moreau. On the Concierge desk there is a Photoplay magazine with “Four Pages of Hilarious Star Caricatures by Walt Disney.”

From the lobby, you are directed to the Library. Check out the bookcases to see if you can find some of the props right from the Twilight Zone episodes. You’ve gotta be quick and look before the lights dim.

As the room gets dark, the TV turns on and you are immediately taken back to the black and white Twilight Zone show with Rod Serling. He begins with “Tonight’s story on the Twilight Zone is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction. This, as you may recognize, is a..” On the show you’ll see the Hollywood Tower Hotel in its heyday. You are introduced to the 5 people who vanished, a young couple, a little girl with her Governess and a bellhop as they enter the elevator. The doors close, they start to go up, lightning hits the building and poof…

With a flash of lightning, the lights come back on in the Library, and the door opens as you have just entered the “Twilight Zone.” This is now your “episode”, and you’re in the boiler room of the hotel waiting to board the service elevator from 1917. Is it really safe to enter, or will you vanish just like the others?

I hope your ready, because this is where the real fun begins. Ah, but make no mistake about it, because this is no ordinary hotel or even elevator. This phantom elevator is located beyond the fifth dimension, the one that crosses over into The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
