What happened 65 million years ago in the Cretaceous period?

As guests enter The Dino Institute they will pass fossils, lab notes and photos. Winding down to the rotunda guest will take in the large murals, fossils and dioramas of the early days when dinosaurs inhabited the earth.

Guests are recruited from their routine visit at The Dino Institute museum to go on a secret mission. The mission you ask, is to go back in time to the Cretaceous period, to capture a mild-mannered Iguanodon, and return to the present day with the 3.5-ton dinosaur in tow.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom has brought the Cretaceous period to life with DINOSAUR found in DinoLand. This thrilling adventure ride transports guests back to a time in history like no other, as they board the experimental CTX Time Rover.

Once guests have accepted their mission, they will climb into their CTX Time Rover, guests will want to buckle up, as time travel can be one turbulent trip!

Once your rover arrives in a dark prehistoric forest that’s nearly pitch black, guests will be able to see these large creatures up close and personal, but beware because not all of them are as friendly as they appear.

Finding the Iguanodon is not as easy as your were told, and the dangers are getting even more breath-taking. The countdown is on, and guests are holding their breath waiting to find out will they become extinct too.

Get ready for this thrill ride is filled with bumps, adventure and close calls. However, it may not be suitable for children that have problems with dark and things jumping out, because you never know what you will encounter in the Cretaceous period.
